Andrea Everman is a design strategist in Seattle with over six years experience leading design research and product development. She has a master of design degree (MDes) in human centered design from ID at IIT and enjoys mapping processes and understanding human behavior.

EXPERIENCE
Design Strategist, Patient Value Lead
Invitae | Remote 2022 - 2024
As the Patient Value Lead for Invitae’s Ciitizen platform, I led patient experience research and developed service offerings related to medical records and research participation.

+Worked with patients, caregivers and advocate groups to map the diagnostic odyssey for rare genetic conditions, presented insight summaries about user needs and opportunities.

+Drove discovery work for new services related to insurance billing, care management and aggregated patient data. 

+Developed solution concepts into prototypes and mapped future state capabilities required to launch and scale new offerings.

+Created an internal process for releasing data insights to research participants in our patient cohorts. 

+Roadmapped the launch of a rare patient dashboard and new survey methods that help patients manage conditions and contribute data to research initiatives.


Design Manager, UX and Strategy
EY | Seattle 2020 - 2022 
Devised strategic solutions for clients based on user needs, business goals and experience landscapes. 

+ Led research investments that included journey mapping, competitor landscapes, and current state capability maps. 

+Designed, produced and facilitated workshops for clients to support new service strategies, articulate vision, ideate and explore solution concepts. 

+Created concept videos, wireframes and clickable prototypes for clients to explore new solutions. 

+Taught user research methods and service design frameworks internally to EY consultants, workshop facilitators and senior managers.

+Co-created a DEI action plan with EY leadership that focused on closing the diversity gap and building awareness for hidden bias.

Clients included: Providence Healthcare, Carrier Global Corporation, Toyota and EY internal initiatives.


Senior Designer
EY | Seattle 2018 - 2020
Supported clients seeking structural transformation and new business strategies. 

+Designed workshops to align stakeholders, embrace a design thinking approach to challenges and evaluate innovation investments. 

+Co-developed an innovation playbook for a national energy company to establish new ways of working.

Clients included: Xcel Energy, Florida Department of Transportation, and Adobe.

ID at IIT and University of Chicago’s Silver Cross Radiation Clinic | Chicago 2018
Communicating the External Beam Radiation Experience (CEBRE)
Collaborated with U of C’s radiation clinic to understand the treatment process for cancer patients, developed a patient communication tool to improve understanding of the treatment and alleviate anxiety.

Conifer | Chicago 2017
Defined the customer funnel for the home services market for Lowe’s Home Improvement, created recommendations based on user mindsets, market landscape and the client’s business goals.

Genetic Testing and Community Outreach Research Initiative
Researched how communities think about cancer screening, data sharing, and risk to help MSK reach more people for genetic testing and wellbeing purposes.

Moment | NYC 2016
Researched augmented reality and education, ideated potential ways the new technology could be used to teach complex concepts in physics, and created an award winning mixed reality concept for science education called PEER.
